Perhaps the greatest mistake of the urban renewal programs, aside from expecting government to solve social problems, was the failure to address social and cultural norms.

These are the established ways of thinking and acting which either empower people to grow and thrive, or trap them in poverty and despair.

We must restore the church as the central institution for shaping culture.

We must destroy the false narrative that racism is the cause of all that is wrong in the lives of black Americans.

We must restore respect for authority and create a strong bond between law abiding citizens and the police who protect them.

Gangs, drugs, crime and violence must be confronted by the community itself.

We must address the issue of sexual morality.

We must educate all Americans, but especially those of African descent, on the true racial history of the United States.
